Role-play in Second Life using deBono's Six Thinking Hats
Eighth Session held in May 2011
Organising the class in preparing of role-play activity |
Giving out instructions so students could collect their hats
Students prepared for role-play activity, some hats appearing | Letting the students know the discussion topics for the role-play
Students wearing their different coloured hats to role-play deBono's Six Thinking Hats | Students placed in two groups. Even though they are all sitting together, they cannot hear (see) what others are saying in the other group. This is where virtual worlds demonstrate a concept that is impossible in real life. Students cannot hear what the other groups are saying and are therefore not influenced by their views.
Students discussed different topics, then came back into local chat together to relay their feelings of role-play | Role-play continues but with different topics, then discussions about the role-play
The class empties out after a night of in-depth discussions |
